1. PROJECT SUMMARY
This business plan describes a project for opening a snow tubing route – a popular winter entertainment, which consists of riding a tub (in the people – “cheesecakes”). The goal of the project is to create a place for mass family recreation of citizens and make a profit. The track with a length of 150 meters and a height difference of 10 meters will be created on a natural natural slope on the outskirts of the city with a population of more than 500 thousand people. A rental point for cheesecakes will be organized for visitors, an unsupported “Baby-Elevator” lift will be created, and the route will be lit.
Starting capital for the launch of the highway – 1.67 million rubles. Expected load per month – 6000 people. Expected revenue will be 1.95 million rubles, net profit – 1.45 million rubles. Profitability – 74%. Integral performance indicators are derived for three seasons of work (see Table 1). The payback period of the project is 2 months. The preparatory period of the project is 3 months.
2. DESCRIPTION OF INDUSTRY AND COMPANY
Tube riding is entertainment that has come to Russia from Western countries. A tube is usually called an inflatable chamber in a case with a reinforced bottom and handles. There are various types of tubing, the most popular of which are water tubing (for example, rafting or tying to a boat), as well as winter tubing, called snow tubing. Snow tubing is a downhill ride on snow tubs (or as they are called “cheesecakes” by the people) from an artificial hill or natural slope. The main difference between tubs and sleds is high speed due to the reduction of friction, as well as softness, due to which collisions and falls are not so traumatic.
Despite the fact that the first descents on the tubes from the snow-covered slopes were known as far back as the 1820s, “cheesecakes” came to Russia relatively recently. Alpine skiing resorts and recreation centers have got the slopes for snow tubing. Snow tubing quickly became a popular entertainment in cities with a long winter season, as well as in megacities. Only in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, according to some data, there are about 40 tracks, equipped with lifts or having rental of cheesecakes. The cost of hourly rent of “cheesecake” in Russia varies from 100 to 900 rubles. and an average of 300 rubles. on weekdays and 350 rub. on the weekend.
The attractiveness of snow tubing from a business point of view is due to many factors. This type of winter entertainment does not require any skills from a person (unlike, for example, skiing). Secondly, it is family and does not depend on gender / age. Thirdly, it is characterized by relative simplicity of organization and does not require much effort – even long winter season the lifts, sometimes it is enough just instructions. Finally, in the fourth, this business, despite its seasonality, is highly profitable, since thousands of people can visit the track in one day.
In our case, the snow tubing route will be set up on the natural slope of a small steepness, on the outskirts of the city with a population of more than 500 thousand people. The track will have a length of 150 meters and a smooth elevation difference of 10 meters, which is ideal for fast and safe snowbike riding. The aim of the project will be to create a place for mass family recreation of citizens in the winter period of time and profit. The main profitable point of our business will be rent of snow tubs for riding from a hill. It is planned to purchase snow tubs of various sizes for riding adults, children and adolescents, as well as double snow tubes for sharing skating.
Two high-speed descents will be created on the track, fenced in between themselves by snow mounds-chippers, a roll-out zone. For the convenience of climbing a hill, the track will be equipped with a support-free lift with a low-lying rope (lift Baby-Elevator) with special hooks for gripping tubs at the lower station. There will also be summed up the track for a comfortable ride in the dark. In addition to the snow bumpers between the slopes and on the edges, it is planned to equip the slide with a grid and protective mats.
The track will be able to work only if there is snow cover, and therefore the duration of the work will depend on the weather. Prior to the launch of the highway, a period of 3 months will be required for preparatory work. The volume of investments in the opening of the route will be 1.67 million rubles.
